The Practice of Staying With Yourself

A 6 – week 1:1 Journaling & Reflection Mentorship

What does it even mean to stay with yourself?

We learn how to be useful to others. How to show up for others. How to fit in.

But how we relate to ourselves — that’s rarely something anyone teaches us.

And yet it’s one of the most important relationships you’ll ever have.

That’s what this practice is about. Learning to stay. Learning to listen. Learning to be with the one person who’s been with you all along — yourself.

Maybe you’ve tried to write before and stopped. Maybe you don’t know where to start. Maybe you’ve sat down with a notebook and what came up felt like too much — so you closed it and moved on.

This isn’t about discipline.

It’s that no one taught you how to stay with what comes up. And you’ve never had someone there while you tried.

This is for you if…

You want a way to be with yourself that doesn’t feel overwhelming or forced.

You’re tired of circling the same thoughts and feelings without knowing what to do with them.

You’ve been carrying something for a while, and you’d like someone to sit with you in it — without being told what to do with it.

What we do together

Over six weeks, we meet 1:1 and build something that’s yours.

We use journaling as the way in — not as a task, not as a test, but as a way of slowing down enough to hear yourself.

We make sense of the themes and emotions that keep showing up. And where it feels right, we begin to translate insight into something practical — small habits, gentle shifts, a clearer sense of direction.

There’s no pressure to arrive anywhere by a certain point.

The work is the staying.

A few questions you may have

Do I need experience with journaling or reflection?
Not at all. Many people come to this work feeling unsure where to begin. This space meets you exactly where you are.

Will I need to share everything I write?
No. You choose what you share. This work respects your privacy and your pace.

Is what I share kept confidential?
Yes. What you share in this space is kept confidential and received with care. This is a private 1:1 space where you’re free to be honest at your own pace.

What if I miss a session?
Consistency matters, but life happens. If something comes up, we’ll approach it with care and flexibility, and agree the best way forward together.

Is this therapy?
No. This is reflective mentorship. While emotions may arise, this work does not replace therapy or professional mental health support.
